Brief Site Description: LGBTQ Student Services, which is housed under the Intercultural Resource Center, strives to create an inclusive and safe, but brave campus for students, faculty, and staff who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Asexual, Pansexual, Intersex, or Two-Spirit. Throughout the academic year, we offer events, programs, and training designed to educate our campus about the unique history and experiences of the LGBTQ+ community, while also raising awareness about the needs and challenges LGBTQ+ students face locally and nationally.
Site Mission, Vision, Goals:
Mission: Our mission is to foster and empower our Rutgers University-Newark community through exploration of intersectionality, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Through education, engagement, dialogue, and support, we create an inclusive society for all identities, marginalized and underserved populations to be change agents within and beyond the Rutgers University-Newark community.
Vision: We are a premier center that engages in the liberation of all identities through development, initiatives, community building, and activism in higher education.
