Welcome to the CSA Field Experience Site!
The Rutgers University College Student Affairs Ed.M. Program emphasizes theory to practice and requires students to develop skills through professional practice. All full-time students in the program are required to have a 20-25 hour per week internship in student affairs and all part-time students are required to maintain full-time employment in a student affairs or closely related unit. Full-time students are also required to take the Internship Seminar course to reflect upon their learning, growth, and development in the internship site.
In addition to their internship or full-time employment, all CSA students are required to complete two Field Experience placements. Field Experience work is designed to allow students to explore the field of student affairs and gain experience in an area outside of their internship or full-time job. Students are required to enroll in the Field Experience Seminar course each semester that they hold a Field Experience placement.
The broad range of sites that are available to students spans most Student Affairs functions and includes opportunities at Rutgers New Brunswick, Rutgers Newark, Princeton University, The College of New Jersey, and New Jersey Institute of Technology among others.
