Princeton University - Campus Recreation
Site Supervisor: Jessica Ward
The Campus Recreation Marketing Crew is comprised of several undergraduate students, who are responsible for using their creativity and resources to publicize programs, events, and services available through Campus Recreation. This project would entail meeting weekly with the student group and advising their individual projects, as well as benchmarking collegiate recreation programs across the country (similar to our size) in order to adapt new practices.
Throughout the Academic Year, Campus Recreation offers various campus-wide special events that are highly attended by the student population. We have strong relationships with other departments on campus, where collaboration is extremely important for the success of these events. This project would allow the Intern the opportunity to meet with administrators from various departments on campus including Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students, Graduate School, Athletics, and University Services. At these meetings, the Intern would have the opportunity to creatively develop programs and events that may be offered at varying locations on campus through co-sponsoring of departments.
Instructional programs offered through Campus Recreation are non-credit options available within Dillon Gymnasium. Campus Recreation continues to develop non-fitness based options for our students that can broaden their learning outside of the classroom. This project would involve creating new options for students to attend non-credit courses through one-day workshops or weekly classes. Assessment of the current class offerings would be conducted and reviewed, as well as a comparison of Ivy League Institutions and recreation facilities would be required.
Other Projects could involve:
· Intramural Sports league programming
· Facility projects
· Sport Club program assessment
· Fitness Center standards/guidelines assessment & programming
· Group Fitness assessment and evaluation of instructors
· Business Operations
