Rutgers Recreation - Student Development
Site Supervisor: Paul S. Fischbach
The recreation field placement in Student Development will offer the opportunity to assist in the design and implementation of professional development and co-curricular learning experiences for over 500 student employees in Recreation. This is an excellent location to apply what you are learning in the classroom to offer immediate suggestions and improvements to make an impact on the Recreation team! The field placement’s main responsibility would be assisting with programs and events pertaining to new employee on-boarding, fall and spring staff trainings and designing and implementing an employee leadership series and continuing education workshops.
Possible projects include:
· Coordinating information sessions for interested job seekers
· Leading group interviews
· Evaluating the recruiting and on-boarding process
· Assisting in the placement of work-study staff
· Developing and Assessing Core Competencies across multiple job descriptions
· Developing a leadership series for managerial staff across the department
· Planning and executing enrichment workshops
